Audience theory 1: blog tasks

Audience theory 1: blog tasks   Hypodermic needle model The Mail Online has written an article about the effects that violent video games have on audiences. This article suggests that playing violent video games 20 minutes a day can encourage violent tendencies for their audiences. This relates to the hypodermic needle theory. This article is suggesting that audiences of this game are passive and will intake the media that they are given and will implement it into their personal lives without questioning it.             Similarly to the Mail Online article, this article is suggesting that the audiences of video games, in this case, a 15-year-old boy, are blindly accepting media and are allowing it to influence their lives.  I agree with the hypodermic needle theory to a certain extent. Psychographics: pair presentations

Psychographics: pair presentations Structure   I was working with Nadima for this presentation. We were researching on the phychographic group, 'Explorer'.  Introduce of the example couple that represents 'Explorers': Their made up names:  Nadima and I decided to name the couple Lucy and Meg, it was a little bit difficult to think of a name that matched an 'Explorer' phsychographic.  Where they work/study: We suggested that our couple studied geography and took an interest in archaeology.  What they do in their spare time: For our couple, we stated that they took part in activities such as; sky diving, rock climbing, Hiking and skiing.  Their media consumption: Print:  We decided that our couple typically read the news paper 'The I'  and probably Teen Vogue. The challenge now is maintaining that depth of analysis across the whole paper. EBI: Revise theory! You could have offered a range of narrativve theories in Q1 beyond Todorov (Barthers, Propp, Levi-strauss) Genre theory is lacking in Q3. Revise Neale, Chandler, Abercrombie. In Q4, you needed more depth and detail, particularly for the prefferred reading. See mark scheme for more.  Comparing my work to the  mark scheme for this assessment   Q1: For question 1, to get the top marks, I would've needed to use consistent highly appropriate subject specific terminology throughout. Q2: For question 2, I would've had to display a e xcellent knowledge and understanding of the influences of the social  and cultural contexts on the film posters that is consistently supported by highly appropriate and effective reference to the set products. Q3: For questi
