 WWW: I appreciate your blog is unlike other students as it has work from the Spring below the ‘First 10 questions’ post! I know it’s not an ideal situation but as I said in my form tutor email to you I think with Covid-19 there may actually be a significant upside in spending an extra year at Greenford as the world may look a little more normal once you move on to university or an apprenticeship. In terms of your work so far, I really enjoyed reading every single piece. Your opening questions and consumption audit show someone with a real awareness of the media they are consuming and you reflect well on how you can develop this (newspapers are a good shout – I would say podcasts too). Your selected advert for Reading an Image and Reception theory is superb and you offer excellent analysis to go with it. Keep this going and maintain your motivation throughout Year 12 and we can definitely aim for that top grade!

EBI: The only issue is that you are missing the Semiotics work from a couple of weeks ago. In fact, you have a Year 13 task there instead so this may be down to the confusion at the start of term. Catch up on the Semiotics tasks and you will be in great shape

My Response (How I will complete my EBI):

I will accomplish the requirements set to me in my EBI by completing any work that I have missed and it will be to a good standard.

However, the cover lines are written in a serif font to portray the magazine as more sophisticated. My Media Consumption.

My media consumption. Newspapers I do not read newspapers regularly. When I do, I turn to the pages that are featured n the front cover. I usually do not read sections that include the UK government. I usually read stories about crime or tragedies, I find it very interesting and I get engaged in the stories. The newspapers I read are usually free ones that you can pick up. I do not look for online versions of newspapers online.  Magazines I do not buy magazines regularly. The last time I bought a magazine for myself was over 2 years ago. However, I have read magazines that my mum has brought home. When I would read them, I would read the celebrity section or news section. I don't usually avoid sections.  Television I do not watch television often but if I do, I would only spend 10.5 hours a week and 1.5 hours a day watching it This is because the only time I watch it is at dinner time with the family; which is usually around 5;30/6 pm.
